Track Car Pics Required - with rivets in the arches
I am looking for inspiration here as some foreign motors (sweden/norway) have the rivets in the arches but i cant find any pics.
Anyone got any pics or better still has anyone done it and how? Any issues i need to be made aware of? etc
Cheers inadvance

Also - how do you do it?
Do you need to drill holes into the bodywork too?

my bodyshop bloke done it when painting but im sure you would drill thro arch and kit whilst fitted
then just rivet together use ally rivets thou cos you dont want them pulling the kit in to much
no more pics really
you can have this one just cos i like it (think you can only see 1 rivit tho)

you have to drill through the metal work for the rivet to work, if not just cut the heads off and stick them on

the arches that are on the car are fibreglass and they need sorting out as they have cracked on the outside so not fussed about drilling thru them - its the bodywork i dont want to touch really

id sealer the area before you rivit though , just as to protect the rivit body if your not using ally rivits , and sealer the inside of the wing after fitted

Allows you to get rid of the metal behind that the arch would normally connect with

is Stuarts kit bonded on then? and im assuming the reason for cutting the wing is for more clearance which would be an advantage

Basically riveted on, then a small bead of sealer on the inside

How you got any pictures of yours? What size rivets did you use, do they have to be any longer than normal small ones?

Ran do you know what rivets are?
How would you possibly do it without drilling the bodywork, that is the whole point
But from what you are saying you want to do this for show?! It looks awful to me, but if thats all you want, then just stick a rivet through the kit but I have no idea why anyone would want to do that LOL :S

Rich, yes I know what rivets are and like the motorsport look they give but dont want to drill holes into a 25 year old Ford as it will inevitably rust
The car will defo not be a bufty queen as i cannot spend whole weekends cleaning the car again
