Hi,

at a first, get both driveshafts out and remove the propshaft,
then remove the speedodrive and the other shaft that goes through the oilpan.
After that remove them bolts that holds the diff

and out is it

You make it sound sooo easy

You will probs have to support the engine and drop the engine bed down aswell, its quite tight getting it out.

Yep, sounds really easy...if everything goes well.

Had it done last year on mine, and that bearing from that oilpan-shaft wont come out. So i had to support the engine, remove steering and this frame-thing...

pain between the legs...

ive never had to remove the crossmember, i just remove the rack bolts and slide the rack forward, then the diff comes out no drama. couple of hours easy

I need to remove my engine and box. Now I know the workshop manual and the majority of people say drop the engine and box out the bottom.

Col, I've a Clarke engine support bar to support the engine before it drops out the bottom.

James, if I remove the diff as above and seperate the box from the engine, will the engine lift out the top? Is there any advantage to this vesus dropping out the bottom? I need to put the engine and box in another car that is a rolling shell at the moment.

Cheers

Steve

it's nearly as hard as licking your own elbow

or not as difficult as kicking yourself in the bollock

i have always found that the crossmember gets in the way so if you have an engine bar, hook it up, drop the crossmember from the chassis legs and on the drivers side once the suspensino is out of the way it's fialry easy to undo the 3 bolts and pull the diff out

just make sure you drain the oil first, otherwise when the diff comes out, so does all the oil

or if you have a strut brace get a rachet strap and strap it engine to it. Then drop the rest off simples.
