Default M14 internally threaded tube

Im after a section of tube pre-drilled and tapped for M14, does anyone know of anywhere I can get it off the shelf as its something I need in a hurry so no time to get it made specially really.

Basically like this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/M14-Right-Hand...item58814fbf40

But needs to be 6 inches long (or 2 * 3" would be fine)

No, they have the male threaded bar but never the female.

Yes thats exactly what my "contingency plan" is at the moment mate, but it would be neater if I could just get a single piece, its for a steering component and they tend not to like welding visible on them.

all i did was grind the edges down so when you butt 2 together you have a V .weld an dress with flap wheel never no it been welded then

yeah its all a possibility, but would be a lot easier to just buy some the right length.

Lol, will do mate.

Could get some machined up I guess, but would be silly money as a one off for what they are.

try your local hydraulic or fastner place
there's a few places in swindon that will do it but i guess it depends on how desperate you are for it

I have used these connectors in the past

http://uk.rs-online.com/web/search/s...duct&R=0276566

RS dont list an m14 version but no doubt other fastener suppliers would stock them

do mcgills not sell it?

edit: Nope just looked. could you not use a threaded insert inside a tube? does it really need to be threaded all the way down? Would look neater and be stronger than the welded together method.

Not something i have ever seen forsale as stock bar , but it realy shouldnt take a local engineering place more than 5 min to make on a lathe.
