Haynes manual says 3.1L to fill my box. I put 2L in there and it was already flowing back out of the filler at this point. I'm fairly sure there was hardly any fluid left in the box before I filled it back up. Will it be ok to drive on or should I be trying to put another litre in there?

Any advice appreciated

 

It will take time for the oil to reach all the gears and areas if it was totaly dry. Try lowering the car to the floor and leave it for a while then jack it back up and refill it.

 

Thanks for the advice, it wasn't totally dry but I did get most of the oil out when removing the box. I'll have another go with some more oil in that case.
