Has anyone done this themselves?

Basically ive got a knackered T3 turbo and wanted to know who has rebuilt one or even upgraded it?

If you have, how did you find it? Where did you get parts from?

is there any play in the shaft in and out???

Easy to do, parts are cheap and do the job..... can get shaft and wheel balanced for £30 inc return post.

anything over 15psi 360 a must, but if its a turbo you intend pushing past its limits then dont bother doing it yourself as even a pro job would be 100% reliable... Cleanliness and inspecting of parts are the most important parts...

 

Hear this so much....who are you going to balance it !!!!!!!!!!! as if you shouldn't dare be considering rebuilding yourself.
Well send the core to Turbo Technics for a balance once you've rebuilt the core and get a propoer 100,000rpm balance, £45 including return delivery.

 

 

sent my last t34 to turbo technics, was just under 400 quid, they picked it up on a monday from my house full rebuild new bearings etc balanced, machined housing, new -31, then delivered it back on the thursday. Top service
