ok took my car down to get set up today it didn't go to well the guy didn't turn up to work and on the way home i accelerated hard in 5th and got a rumbling noise from rear and revs went up with out speed sounds like clutch so tryed it from stand still and nothink all they way through to 160mph so back to 4th just brought up to 3000rpm and nailed the throttle and rumble and slip again put it 5th and same think again then drove normal for about 5 miles tryed again and nothink, drives perfect other than this and have never had this problem b4 today so any one have any ideas car has 6 plated paddle clutch in it and has done about 15000 miles clutch is very heavy and greaks a bit diff mount is worn a little so brought a new one as well car is on greys low comp p/p head t38 closed loop rs 500 cooler etc any ideas for clutch replacement or advise on problem would be fantastic

 

sounds like clutch slip, what cover you got ?

 

I took a six plater out recently at 6K miles and it was pretty worn - thats where i would look first before you knacker the flywheel mate.

 

stripped car down today clutch had just started to hit the rivits on pressure plate new clutch on the way and lightened flywheel msd diff mount new prop shaft bearing clutch cable, also stripped down diff and found a small chip off of one of the planet gears on about 2.5 mm can i get theses from any where
