Personally I have never seen them in any Hardware store I have been in.

They are indeed VERY strong, but to be honest, I rate them more as exhaust clamps that anything else. I reckon a Stainless Jubilee is the way forward!! (this is a personal opinion I must add). They dont seem any more competent at keeping the engine Airtight than anything else, surprising as that may seem.

Normal jubilee clips tend to bite into the hoses better due to their narrower width hence in my oppinion are better for sealing hoses

But have you all just assumed that they are good because your hoses have stayed on??

Have any of you tried an Air Leak test on your car??

We had a car in that had them all over the intake system and it leaked like a sieve. We tightened them to the point that we thought the actual Pipework would collapse and they still didnt really seal properly.

My boost hoses seem fine, the water hoses (front thermostat and swirl pot) leakes so i replaced with jubilee's

perhaps its because i didnt have the exact correct size. The thing with Mikalor is that the tolerences in size, the amount the contract/retract are very fine, you really have to make sure you get the size needed spot on.

to be honest, i only got them because they look so much more than the old jubilee design

But when you say your Boost Hoses seem fine, I assume you mean that they stay on? Believe me, if you found they were leaking on your Water Hoses, I can almost guarantee you that the Boost Hoses will be leaking.

how you know they not leaking tho dave?

just cause boost is at the level it should be and you cant hear any leaks, dont mean the turbos not overspeeding its tits off to compensate for a small boost leak

it does make sence that if water hoses leak that easy, so would boost

tho like you say, if you wasnt using the right size, but ARE for the boost ones, maybe its different

I was told by a well known tuner from this board that they dont use them, and if you try re-using them too much they just twist and break

Think I'll stick with stainless jubilee clips thanks!
