-31 is actually the last digits of a part number on a oem type acctuator.
but the ratings of the springs for boost on these will handle over 20psi happily.
MSD recommend 10psi on the actuator and bleed a further 10psi.
i've got my collins one set to hold 12.5psi, peak at 14.
then i bleed the rest off with an electronic boost controller (gizzmo IBC MS2)

thanks for the reply
im reasonably new to this so i may sound a bit thick
the turbo has a adjustable boost valve on it and coming with a collins - 31 actuator. i know the asjustable boost valve makes the boost go higher or lower,
so when i put it on do i just run it like normal or do i need to get a bleed valve??
thanks

adjustable boost valve will be a bleed valve, they can be used effectively, although tend to spike more than a properly controlled system.

collins actuator you say, is it new or used?
i ask as i've had a couple now and all been pants at holding boost due to old worn out springs, Matt lewis can get new ones for pretty cheap, can't remember how much, but made mine hold 14psi no sweat, but i backed it off a little without the bleeding through the boost controller i have.

it'll be fine pal, don't panic, worst case is it won't boost as much and may require the rod shortening or spring replacing, tis easy to do, did mine in situ, that was tight i tell ya

easy to use/fit really, just need time to get the antisurge sorted out, basically peaks at 14psi and drops back to 12.5 at the moment, rate of change is a little too quick on the first setting.
easy to fit and wire, just read instructions properly and it'll go well.
