Check and make sure the trigger wheel CPS is clean/gapped ok and indeed works ok, does fuel pump prime when problems occur?

It can be out and still work obviously a slight tolerance, ideally of course you would have it right, more importantly is the teeth and that it can referance these ok, now we know it was working fine until the flywheel was refaced. Did the flywheel go back in exactly the same position as it came out? if not this will be your problem it needs to be as otherwise it will be out of time with rest of engine and hence CPS will not be reading correct.

I think the flywheel bolts are staggered so it will only bolt up in one place. Even if it were in the wrong place - it would still spark and fire the injectors but the timing would be wrong and the car wouldn't run.

Did you accidentally clout the sensor when you took the flywheel off? Might be worth trying a different one. It's less likely to be a speed sensor as this is primarily used by the ECU to sense overrun, and wouldn't stop the car from starting.

Tryed a new cps and ecu think it mite be the wiring to the cps as the plug has been damaged at some point and been replaced will have a look over it weekend cheers paul

Could certainly be, don't know on your car but on Cosworth's the car loom side of the connector loses grip on the pins hence bad connection.

The two pin CPS plugs are prone to heat damage from the turbo on CVHs, - the plug gets cooked and brittle then breaks. This is worse on cars running a T3 as the plug is even closer the the turbo than on a T2 powered fiesta.
