Default Crap Gear Lever

i dont know if this is a common problem but the gears in my s1 are crap...you can do a full circle in neutral..when you put it in gear its like its going to fall out (but doesnt) and is 'loose'...i felt the selector on a s2 and was similar just not as bad...

whats the best way to overcome this??? quickshift?? but will this make the gears nice and hard aswell?

Its the selector bushes that have worn causing the lever to move around. I think you can just replace the bushes.

A quickshift lever/linkage would also solve your problem.

I'd imagine you get them from ford !

When I brought my erst the previous owner had replaced all the gear linkage componenets etc so it was like new ! I got a quickshift from rally design for about £50, fitted it and the gear change is perfect, no movement once I have selected a gear and it feels so smooth. Deffo worth doing !!
