paypal ripoff merchants part 2
Just writing an update on my thread https://passionford.com/forum/genera...merchants.html
Well Paypal still have my money until the time limit is up incase the buyer doesnt receive it, or its broken etc. But i received a message on ebay off another member who, with 5 others on board, have reported the buyer of my item to ebay. The buyer has requested refunds on 6 items since January claiming not to have received them!!
And, surprise surprise-I also had a message off the buyer asking where his item is! i sent it 3 days ago on 1st class delivery.
the thing is i am flustered now as i know paypal will refund the little tw*t when he claims he hasnt had it! He lives 15 mins away so if he does claim it back....

I had this when I sold some bits, was taking ages so I emailed paypal the tracking number of the parcle and said he has recived it so they let me have the money, then the bloke tryed to clame it back saying he hasn't recived it even though it was signed by him lol
did you get proof of post? normal 1st is insured if you get proof of post. People need to leave feedback saying "buyer not received, had to refund" etc as this will be happening like mad now and the next seller will never know until he gets stung.
I sell alot on ebay and send most normal 1st due to low value. but most things i get proof of post so i can claim if they dont receive.

1st and 2nd post is insured up to £39 - as already said, as long as you get proof of postage.
If the buyer claims they haven't received the item then just lodge a claim with Royal Mail and get your money back that way.
If you don't want to be left open to the possibility of Paypal disputes being found in the buyer's favour then do as their terms and conditions state and ensure you send via an online trackable postal service.
As much as I hate Paypal, if you know how things work then nine times out of ten you won't have a problem. There are obviously exceptions but for the most part ....

Incidentally, are you aware your terms and conditions on your eBay auctions are in breach of statutory consumer rights? In particular rights given under Distance Selling Regulations.
Might be a good idea to modify your terms and conditions and properly acquaint yourself with the relevant regulations.

yes i have proof of postage and its insured to the value of £39 as standard, as stated. On my receipt it has his address too. I hope he had to collect it from his local post office with a red slip. Surely this is traceable???
Its only going to be traceable if you have a tracking number, even then it's pot luck.
If the buyernclaims it hasn't arrived just refund his money and claim from Royal Mail. You won't lose out that way.
