Hi,

I'm somewhat geographically challenged for locating parts for my 1986 3DR so I'm trying to determine if the scuttle panel is common among more models than just the 3DR RS to increase my chances of finding one that's not broken like mine is. Is the Sapphire Scuttle panel the same as the 3DR's? I'm assuming that the scuttle panel on any Mk1 3 door would be the same, but again I don't know for sure, any help would be appreciated.

The 3dr cosworth is fitted with a standard Mk1 sierra scuttle as fitted to all the cars from that era (1982-86)

mk1 sierras are hard to find over here as most have been scrapped, only mk2 sierra in the yards these days and if you do find one its usually broken on the clips, so not sure with NZ.

 

As said all mk1 the same, we are refering to the plastic panel that surrounds the wiper spindles and has the washer jets through it ?
If you can wait a few months I will have a perfect s/h one, as me dad is scrapping his 4i due to rust, 3 days solid welding last year looks worse this year for mot!!
At last I will get my 3 door hubs back as well!!
Never looked to see how similar/different the sapphy one was, will do in the morning out of curiosity though.

There are some very minor differences in Mk1's but only on the leading edge where the battery is. No idea why but the cossies have a cut out.

In theory a saff would fit I would guess but would look totally wrong imho
