Default Tuning Boxes v's remap's

Ok Y'all
I want the good points and bad points of tuning boxes and remaps

I've had a remap on my tdci mondeo for over a year now and i wonder if its the best way to go for performance enhancements ?

My next car , which will be a diesel as well , im thinking of either a tuning box or remap and the reason is ...................... any probs with the car when fitted with a tuning box i can just take it off and back to normal , and use it on my next car with a software flash .

Remap is there for the rest of the life of the car once i've paid for it and benefits every user after me but if any probs occur i can't return it to standard .

So i think i know that the box just fools the car into dumping more fuel into the engine to make more power but how bad in the long run is this ??

The remap i think is the best way to go as it alters all the parameters and makes for better engine life .

So i know i've maybe answered my own questions but i just want other peoples thoughts please .

Tuning boxes are tacky pieces of shit. I know from past experiences people who have had them have had problems. Injectors and what not! My friends 115ps Mondeo with a remap from MSD blew away a 130 with a tuning box, and had way better fuel economy. That's enough said really.

tuning boxes are one size fits all pieces of crap that just dump fuel into your engine with no concern for detonation whatsoever whearas a remap is safe reliable and gives better power and better mpg
