Default Wing mirror backing plate

I'm ure that some very early Sierra's came with only a drivers mirror so would have had a blank passenger side.

Can anyone confirm this?

I will be down at the dealers in the morning to collect some parts so i can confirm then just wanted to now now.

Or if anyone has pictures of modded backing plates to fit touring car style mirrors on.

Cheers

Default Mirror base plates

Hi Mate

I picked up 2 second hand complete mirrors from ford fair and cut the mirrors off and modified the bases then filled, sanded, and sprayed satin black. This was a bit of long process thu and wanted to see how the calafona mirrors would look on my sapp.
I took these off after 1 day, as they only look good on a 3 door in my opinion.

By the way, the mirrors and plates are for sale Ł60

I've got the mirrors already mate and a set of bases but to keep the original lines in the plastic makes it harder as the raised part comes right to the edge of them, like you know.

Just wondered what the touring cars had asthey wouldn't have gone though all that to fit them they would have had some made even if they went on a 909 number

pretty sure they used the base model blanks - rhd version for the passenger side and lhd version for our drivers side.

Very much doubt they are still available as the law changed soon after the sierra came out and cars had to have mirrors on both sides.
