Default 300zx tiwn turbo nissan, what to look for?

As above my friend went to look at one today, when we started it.. it had a ticking noise on the right side of the engine sounded like a hydraulic lifter.. If so would this be costly to repair? And what else is there to look for on these cars? cheers

Be warned, they're a complete pain in the arse to work on. Pretty much any work that's needed on the engine will mean dropping the engine out and then refitting it...

head gaskets mainly on the things, if you drop a tool in the engine just count it as a loss as you will never get it back , pain in the arse to work on as mentioned, slow unless you get one thats had some decent tuning work, but they drive well and are comfy

my mate had one and raved about it he took me out in it and a corsa gsi annialated him from the lights ok it probably had a red top in it but still big twin turbo should be fast but they just aint and like everyone said pain in arse to work on allthough i dont think you would lose a tool in the engine bay as its that tight of a fit there is nowhere for them to fall lol!
