blue smoke on deaceleration

iv noticed on my dads cossie that when he boots it and then takes his foot off the acelerator he gets a small puff of blue smoke anyone got any ideas

Does it do it more when the car slows and the revs come down to idle? If so, this would indicate a worn thrust seal in the turbo, otherwise it is a bit of blow-by the rings, which depending on the mileage is pretty normal.
