Default Any gas fitters on here?? Copper pipe question

Hi all,
I want to cap off a 15mm gas pipe on an outside wall which runs to where an old cooker used to be, i went to wickes to get a cap joint but on the back of the solder fittings it says not suitable for gas!! I can understand it for push fit or compression joints but not soldered joints as the 22mm pipe which runs along the side of the house has soldered joints and fittings along it ( not the pre soldered type )

Which fittings can i use? I just want to cap off the 15mm pipe as i can't get to the 22mm T easily to change it to a straight!

Cheers, Gaz.

you can use compression so long as the pipe is easily accessable (i.e not buried in the wall) there is no problem with using a copper end feed fitting either

some gas pipes aren't the same size as water pipes. which is why they may not work or be interchangeable

that and the fitting might not be properly sealable against the gas

i know we had a world of trouble tring to sort our gas pipes out when we moved in, in the end we got the gas man to start from scratch as my brother decided to put screws through the pipework on 2 separate occasions

twat was without gas until they could come out and sort the problem, they put a prohibition notice on

As long as you wouldn't charge me travel costs, I'm in Peterborough lol.

I'll get the verniers out then and check the pipes 15mm, not half inch. Thanks fellas, soldered cap it is then.
