I cant believe people don't have decent security on their older cars ffs. mk4 escorts have to be one of the easiest cars to steal....

As bad as it sounds prob some kids with the smashing of the window, i hope not but I would imagine it being burned out somewhere

its booked in for the alarm to be fitted the old one stopped workin an the car wouldn't start and it doesn't matter what alarm you have if someone wants the car bad enough they will get it theres ways round everything. amazing how some people are on the side of the thief just hope they get the same feedback if it happens to them

well obviously the car would start as its not there anymore..... pal, I've been there, my ERST was taken one night, it had a steering lock on and an immob, i have now learned my lesson. in this day and age, if you want something nice then you have to protect it end of. sorry for your loss and i hope you do get it back in one piece.

who's to say they started the car could have pushed it then towed it i've known cars be taken on back of trailers and trucks

look at the cossie that was alarmed big steering lock thing on and behind secure gates in a garage still went so if they want it they will get it no matter what

it did start because the old alarm had been removed. from what the bloke next door said he heard it wasn't started till they got to the end of the road. found the child seat dumped down the road going out later to see they are being stupid enough to drive it round

if they dumped the child seat down the road it was taken for a joyride imo, someone taking it to strip it at a unit would have not bothered removing the childseat.

Chances are it is local, take a trip out late evening would be my guess and see what turns up. But be careful, don't go chasing after them in your motor, as it aint their car so they will have no hesitation in raming you, leaving you with two smashed up motors.

Glad to hear you got your car back. Years ago i had a mate that had an Astra GTE. The car was parked outside our local sports centre and when we went out to it it had been nicked, the only thing that was left in his parking space was the broken alarm.
