Having bought a partially restored 16i last year thought i would share some photos with you all. Car has been off the road for approx 10 years benefiting from rot removed and a full repaint.
Car was bought nearly complete, just needing finishing

Pics from previous owner during resto

Car then sat in storage while work commitments took over. Any way after buying a few things namely a new engine /wheels/ brakes etc i thought it was best to crack on.
Konis ready to be painted Sunburst red to match standard shocks

Engine removed ready for new one

Engine out

New engine in, think the rocker cover might need some modding

How its currently sat

More updates to follow.

Well had another day at it so suspension and brakes today.
First of remove all the old gear

Fit painted arms with proflex poly bushes with rebuilt rear hubs

New 4x4 cosworth calipers and discs at the rear

New 300mm discs and refurbed st170 calipers at the front

Will be running Braided hoses front to rear, need to get some pics
Underneath all sealed

Bit close to the wheel but they fit.

Hopefully more updates tomorrow

Thought about a spacer , but was concerned in case it made the inlet too tall and caught the bonnet. Have also been looking at modding the 16i cover to make it fit ( I have 2 in case it goes wrong).
i looked at this car almost exactly a year ago when it was in the ford garage, beautiful colour and a very very clean shell.will be really nice when its finished!good luck with it,make sure you have a fire extinguisher to hand when its 1st fired up!

Not much of an update lately unfortunately. However as I couldn't get the 3 inch bore mongoose to sit correctly I decided to remove it and fit a 2.5 inch instead. So spent most of the day fitting it to sit correctly then heatwrapping the complete exhaust.

Also fitted my red and smoked tinted lights but not sure.

not really an update as such. Needed to get the car out for pics for the insurance company so thought it could do with a clean.
wash/ 1 coat of polish, 3 coats of wax and a coat of sealant later. Still need to finish the clean and the small matter fo getting it on the road.
