Genuine question, just wondering why on a moderated forum with users not allowed to reply anonymously, the tags at the bottom of threads are not also shown with details of who posted them like every other post on the forum is?

Why not make it so that the on hover property of the tag, is the name of the poster?

If people could just leave the mods to reply that would be great as the last thread ended up locked for being dragged off topic, and its a genuine question.

They need to be disabled IMO.

Only a few people on here use them as they were designed for and just add to the bandwidth and server speed reduction.

 

Cowards some of them, just put what you think in the reply box not in a tag!

 

But then it's off topic and the Mod's shout at you!

not really, if its related to the original postings....
it's only when it gets to a point where the mods feel it serves no positive purpose to the thread...

or people just decide to start being abusive towards each other ...

Does it really matter that much? Seems like a lot of fuss about nothing.

 

Recent thread showed people are happy with them being anonymous anyway on the poll results

Agreed, have never suggested they should be removed, I just felt it would be better if you could see who posted them, but it would appear thats not a commonly held view.

 

Tags are sometimes more interesting than the thread itself
