Default Tracking marathon runners....

Bit of a random one! Does anyone know a good way to track someone running a marathon?

Like a cheap GPS tracker, that you could follow via internet equipped phones for example? Seen a couple on Ebay that might work - £113 the cheapest

I spent all day today, doing just shy of 30 miles on my bike chasing 2 friends around the Bath 1/2 marathon. Finding them was a mare even in their semi distinctive kit

Today I saw people dressed as gorillas, one pair of lads dressed as boobs , Marines in full kit with bergens, and one guy in a Mankini Oddly enough the girls aren't interested in doing any of that.

So what else can you suggest? London Marathon is only 5/6 weeks away, and I don't fancy clocking up 60 miles there following them around

Si

Every runner is tracked on London mate. You can follow it on your phone as well.

As above all runners are tracked all you need is their number and a phone. although because of numbers texts are always delayed and only sometimes show 5 , 10 , 15 k etc

Just pulled out of this years event but will be there again next year , only another 58 weeks of training!

Thank you guys, that's useful to know regarding the London tracking.

Little bit vague with the 5km gaps though

And the link LeadFoot put up is too much money for a 1 off application, but is totally the right thing I'm looking for.

Hmmm

Use Google Latitude! Its completely free, Download it to your phone, sign up to it and you can track whoever you want via their mobile phone's gps. Also good to put on your phone in case its stolen etc. I've used it for a while now, its a great little tool to see what your mates are up to!

Great too if you reckon your mrs is shagging about

Good tip off, that sounds much more like it.

Not sure if the girls will be carrying their phones. They don't normally, but I might try and convince them....

Thank you
