Default Today, i drove the 3dr! PICS ADDED

for the first time in about 4 years lol.

only 100 yards up the road and back to check that the brakes worked after i bled them... and they did.

one thing that i cant seem to sort is the fooking exhaust leaking...

got a new v band clamp, so the turbo to down pipe is not leaking now, but where the downpipe joins the middle secion it leaks, and it leaks rom the middle section to rear join.

done the clamps up as tight as i feel they can go before breaking... so whats next?

just a few wiring bits to finish, and a slight oil leak from the turbo drain to sort, and modify the screamer pipe as the wheel rubs it on full lock...

then its a full nut and bolt check, insurance, mot and map.

couple of pics!! more in my resto thread!!!

fao beefy: more on page 31 of my resto

one thing, i dont think it will make it on track

the fucking noise of it lol. i dont think it went over 3k rpm, but the missus said i was a twat as it shook the windows

might have to get a massive silencer that goes accross the rear bumper.

its a 3" straight through system, with one big box at the rear

there are a couple of pics on page 10 of it, and another on page 28 where i had some extra supports welded in as i thought i may twist off under heavy braking.

also, i fitted some alloy bushes inside the square tube so when it was all clamped up, it wouldnt squash the tube.

james, yes once its ready, hopefully chip will still come round and do it on the way to the mot lol.

although i might enquire about going over to m-tech in westbury, as they are now doing mots, and then chip can map it on their rollers if they will do that.

That hayward and scott exhaust is a load of shit Fudge!

it dont fit the turbo. the screamer pipe catches the front tire and will melt it, and fail the MOT..

when paying 1K for an exhaust, you dont really want it to 'sort itself out'
it needs to pass an MOT before the car can move, lol and it wont with that massive exhaust leak, and catching the tire.

Thought you might of tried to drive it today.... Hope you filled it up with wate before you did!

Congrats, but Ł1k for an exhaust that leaks, don't fit and is too loud for track.
I would not be happy, and would not be sorting it out myself.

the main leak was turbo to downpipe, but after loosening all clamps and fitting a decent v band, its no where near as bad as it was, but it still leaks fromt he other 2 joins a bit...

and yes, i put water in it!

chip, will do mate. been meaning to speak to you about it again actually

ranj, they are at the other end of the country, so will cost more to take it back than it will for me to buy some parts and mod it myself... also it didnt cost 1k, but wasnt far off

so thats another thing on the list

and no, its not getting broke!
