Default Got a new car to do some track days with

Never done any track days before, picked up something that should be good for the task. Toyota Corolla Levin BZ-R

Factory spec is..

1.6 20v 4AGE engine, throttle bodies, 8400rpm rev limit, 165bhp
6 speed close ratio gearbox with LSD
SuperStrut suspension (basically acts as double wishbone) and independent rear suspension
Twin pot callipers from an MR2 Turbo and rear disc brakes
1080kg kerb weight and the shell has extra seam welding compared to the lesser models

Needs a bit of a tidy up, got a couple of dents to get pulled out and needs a good mopping and polish. It's a 1999, got 65k on the clock and cost just over 2 grand. Can't think of many cars with a spec like that for 2k.

Will probably do Llandow 1st as it's close to me and has no long straights so the lack of any real grunt shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah, it's FWD. The throttle bodies are just open trumpets, the inlet manifold has been removed. It sounds very similar to my old Mk1 Escort on 40's.

I wanted to get a ERST or FRST but I wouldn't find a nice one for my budget.

I hate to say it but that Toyota will probably go better, handle better and last a damn sight better round a track than the RSTs!
