Default Best Deal On The I-Phone?

I'm really wanting one, and I am wondering where the best deal is. The less I pay a month the better, but I don't wanna' put too much up front.

I pay Ł50 for my 3gs 16g from o2, Ł15 of that is phone insurance which they failed to tell me, thought my o2 original insurance that i got for free (gold customer) would cover it but NO! Iphone is different policy.

You can get I-phone insurance cheaper at Ł7ish but read the small print first on what exactly it gives you.

here is a breakdown for you on the best deals, tesco seems to be the best, but there is a high up front fee, but you can get a 12 month deal on it and change network. iirc, Tesco use the o2 network for coverage

I need unlimited texts and around 600mins a month! I send a lot of texts, but I don't make many phone calls because I find texting easier.

I am off to my local retail park soon, and I have an N97 at the moment so I'm in no rush to get one, but I will hopefully get a good deal. Cheers for the replies. Maybe some shops will let me trade that in as the deposit?? I have phone insurance through my bank too, John, as I am a gold customer, lol!

I went into phones4u to see if they would buy out my contract as i want the iphone. I had a good few months left on my current contract, but have a faulty phone on it and was fed up of the phone i was using keep crashing!

I want to stay with orange, as they have been fairly good to me in the time i've been with them! Phones4u were trying to see about letting me have the iphone.. but the amount i would have had to pay out was too much, and he told me that Apple wont let them discount the iphone hence why they can offer you any other phone but not the iphone with a discount!

Orange were not good to me at all... Treated me like shit and after all the hassel with the 'Orange Safe Guard' I was given an apology from the chief dick head who said he would sort it personally, which would guarentee it was fixed. It wasn't fixed and then he left me some patronising voicemail about patients being the key, and how I will now enjoy browsing the web. He sent me this when I still couldn't browse the web at all.

Not really. I'm happy to pay that much extra for the phone. I use it every day, and it doubles as an iPod which I would otherwise have spent money on. Your Ł15 still means you've got to buy a phone plus that doesn't include net browsing does it?

Benni - Which one does that deal refer to? The 8, 16, or 32gig one?

Sounds like a fair deal on a 16gig 3gs.

16Gig 3GS mate. I honestly wouldn't bother as although I'm not tight, I don't spend money if I don't need too. However, I am now using my old phone and I am on a rolling contract at not much less than the contract I would be on.

I'll be paying Ł10 more a month, but that is with a brand new phone. At the moment I don't get that. OK, so it's a contract, but I don't plan on cancelling this rolling one for as long as I can remember, so might as well go and pay the same and get a phone out of it.

And I thought you were offered an upgrade on phone contracts 12 months in?

Benni.

I get unlimited texts, 600mins and a bolt on, which can be unlimited internet, but i use it for 200 more minutes. I do have to supply a phone but tbh I would rather do that and not spend well over Ł500 on one, basically on credit just because I want the latest thing, that wont be the latest after 6months
I use my n95 8 gig, had it for about 3 years now.

Haha, it's nothing to do with that. I bought it because I want it, it has nothing to do with what anyone else has got.

I suppose you "hate all this new fangled technology" and "a phone only needs to make phonecalls"?

I won't be paying much more than I am now, and I can sell my N97 to pay for the deposit. Believe me, I don't want the 'Latest things'. In 2006 my phone was black and white still, and was covered in paint from when we decorated. I'd probably still have that now only I was forced to put it in the bin because it embaressed friends. When I was 17 my phone still had an arial.

nope, love my tech but just dont get the iphone obsession. I have a ipod touch which I use just as a ipod and my phone I use just for phone calls and texts, and use the camera for pics. I do use my phone absolutly loads and it does exactly what I need, I used to get the latest phone, but just dont interest me anymore. Can't stand the idea of being on a 18 or 24 month contract, was ok at 12 but they just take the piss now. You won't have "new fangled technology" in 12 months either, just 12months left on a inflated contract and a outdated phone

If i want something i buy it, if i can't afford it i save. Never on credit, and that includes mobile phones.

But seriously, I had a regular phone and a Touch as I couldn't see the point in the iphone. But I found that I took the Touch everywhere, and used it so much that it made more sense to sell it to pay for an iPhone.

Believe me, fashion has nothing to do with it. I buy my clothes from Asda!

I went for the Ł40 vodafone paid Ł89 for phone on 18 mth contract.

Worked out best deal over the full contract.

Use the site above will show the cost over the full contract so overall it's cheaper over 18 months
