Well start a new job on monday thank god.

Been a tough really tough 6 months even 2 years tbh, I worked for myself for 4 years and previously with a company for 9 years. so basically never been out of work since 16

I install/maintain security, alarms/cctv/access/fire system etc.

Didnt have much work especially the last 6 months and closed my business the start of january, and been looking for work since.

Finally landed a job in the nick of time and money is quite good and I get a car etc so really pleased, as I would have had to sell my house if I went another 2 or 3 weeks with no money. it was that bad

Dont really want to stay in this type of work but for now anything will do, but hopefully something else could come off for me down the line.


So for some reason really nervous for monday now, new people, new envioroment and I need to answer to someone again.

company called scotshield mate they are based in airdire but only need to go there every second monday, they have just won the council contract like schools etc in ayrshire so they seem to be booming which is good.

Im just servicing/repairing rather than installing so its a slight change for me.

 

Does that mean you wont be spending as much time on call of duty? if so it will give me time to practise

 

Do they supply you with a van mate or do you need to use yours?

 

Yes no more call of duty through the day for me, the dog will be lost for sure now

Still get a wee practice at night!

My van is leased to the company so goes back tuesday.

I get a car/estate again. there getting focus`s this year but may get a astra or vectra just now

I'm a maintenance engineer mate,

Nothing in the pipeline at the moment because my works told me that if i get another job and leave before they say i can leave then i dont get any of my redundancy money, so they have me by the balls. Every time i ask for a rough date when we'll be finished they just tell me i'll just need to wait and see.

 

Congrats mate , at least now your earning again , get some money behind you and then think what else you'd like to do .

Its a pain in the arse rab,

ideal scenario would be to get my redundancy money and start a new job straight away but cant see that happening with the way things are, and i cant tell any potential employers when i can start because my company wont let me leave and they wont tell me when i can leave.

Great news on your new job though mate, even if it's not what you want to do it's still cash coming in every month and thats the main thing
