Default yb rebuild 350bhp advice.

hi there people, ive got to a point in my build were i need to get my engine reckoned. i would like to have a pucker engine at the end. need a new turbo t34/ injectors/ pistons/bottom end etc.
ive done some other non turbo engines so im not a total novice, im thinking of doing it myself to save money, how hard can it be?
could anybody shed some light for me like compresion ratios what pistons etc.
would be nice to hear from people who have done one before must be a few of you on here.

cheers andy.........

standard mahle 4x4 pistons standard rods will be fine mate at that power mate, maybe a bit of head porting but not really needed at that power level

if you dont plan on going for silly bhp and stay at stage 3'ish then you dont have to change anything from standard. The only thing id recommend is valve cut outs in the pistons

I'm sure at that level its all standard stuff, just bolt on bits to get the power.

ps, the engine is probably one of the easiest to rebuild, its a pinto engine with a turbo on the side

As said, theres engines on here running over 400bhp now with standard heads on, and as said standrd spec piston wise etc is fine but agree cut outs are a good idea if ur having the engine apart!!

As said before, you will be fine with standard internals, cams and head. Just put a better head gasket on with a t34 and some green injectors and ya laughing!

is it really that easy? would you use an uprated oil pump? and is there any need for better breathing ect.
wheres the best place for parts?

if you have built an engine before, you wont have any problems with a YB and there are so many people on here that have built them to various specs, there will always be someone who can talk you through it

as said just use a standard one, think some people have found the standard pinto pump is exactly the same and u just need to swap the cossie pump cover over as it has the hole in it for the spray bar!! I fitted a 4x4 one to mine as i was advised 2 but sounds like it wasnt really needed!!

Rest is a peice of piss as said if u have worked on an engine before!! its just making sure ur tollerances etc are spot on ie using a plastigauge on the bearings to make sure their clearance is fine etc etc etc
