Cool please help problem with alarm

hi peeps im new to this forum i brought a car today but the alarm isnt woking i think the guy said hed turned it off to save the battery but now i cant lock the car how do i get it to work again

its a xr2i 1991 im not sure witch alarm it is but i cant lock the car with out it lol

i had a look earlier and think i found the fuse and its ok but near the fuse box theres 2 switch's a flick switch and a red button are these enything to do with it

Why can't you lock the car with the key?

The switch and red button may be for the alarm, would be abit odd to have a switch for the alarm though inside the car?

its ment to have full closure i think the guy removed the battery from the car to charge before i picked it up could it just need resetting and how is it done

Ring the guy you bought the car from and ask him what you need to do. I dunno maybe the alarm box is under the bonnet, and there's probably a small key on your car keys yet to be discovered by you.

i have found the problem now the aerial pick up on it was shit u had to hold the fob under the car lol so ive fixed it so it works properly now thanks guys
