Try the Polished Bliss website for guides etc. They're a helpful bunch.

concentrate on finishing your escort, before embarking on other projects

The white and orange should be the harder ones generally used for compounding rather than polishing, where compounding meaning removing dust and runs after 1500 from fresh paint or heavy oxidisation in old paintwork.I find faracela g3 saves pretty much anything heavy but be VERY CAREFUL as even with water it's easy to burn through.I like to wet flat 1500 or 2000 (use a "block" for any runs/dust)first and then compound on low speed with plenty of water til you achive a basic sheen then speed it up a bit to get mirror finish.swap the head then for the softest one you have in the kit, douse it in water and turn speed up again and basically buff all the excess g3 off the car to give you a stunning finish.a nice tip if your not sure if you've gone far enough is to put the polish on,buff it and then use some panelwipe to wipe off the excess and this will then show you what it would look like when finished.practice makes perfect so keep the speeds low at first and plenty of water and you'll be ok.

Also forgot, always keep the mop moving and watch all the edges etc as you can easily burn through there!!!

Just read the PDF description and some top info there, worth reading HOWEVER,it dosent work exactly that way in the real world as when they say it's hard to burn through or "strike through" believe me as someone who does this on a regular basis weekly it's very EASY to burn through.leave it on a patch for more than a few seconds and that's generally it.although I mainly work on fresh paint,it's really easy to do so keep it wet and you'll be a lot safer.I tend to keep an old 2 litre water bottle full with a hole made in the top of the lid to squeeze onto the metalwork when your using it.you'll soon get used to it and the machine you've bought looks the dogs to be fair.good luck ! !!!

hi mate, yeah,it does mention it late on in the PDF but I would say if you've not done much with this before you can burn through very easily.it does depend on the cutting compound u use but I use faracela g3 which is a harsh compound and therefore you need to be very confident to use without water
,certainly something I wouldn't do and I've done this for a long time now.there is a g3 that is more like a liquid in a tube which apparently you don't require water on but I've used it a bit and wasn't too impressed with the finish.I believe they sell a very similar product in halfords in a yellow tube but I haven't tried it.out of interest, what are u using it for?

Sorry mate, what compound are you using, should have a code of some description on it,g3,g11 etc.I think there's a comparison in the PDF but if you know post it up and I'll find out at my suppliers for you.it won't harm to use water on any of them really but as a guide g3 in a tub is almost like a heavy paste,is that what urs is like?
