Default Turbo Timers

Hi all.
Been looking at turbo timers for my car, now I keep seeing HSK ones that I guess are very good, but the thing is, I dont want to buy a new one, not out of cheapness, but cause I want to pull it apart and put inside into the standard clock case, I say me, I mean a friend who is very good at make odd things like that. I once see one for sale on Pistonhead parts section, but was skint at the time.
And info on a turbo time makes ect, so I can hunt ebay.

I was thinking bout trying to do it really cheaply, a clock cost sod all as I,v got two, was hoping to get a ebay bargain on the timer, and as for pay the lad to do it, it would only cost either a case of beer or a bag of weed, as I know he would enjoy doing it, keep him off World of Warcraft for a few mins!
Not going to do it if it would cost much.

totally agree, not to mention if one is fitted most insurance companies won't touch you.
you can buy cheap chinese crap off ebay for cheap though.
don't tend to see many good condition ones come up cheap.

What the deal with the Insurance then?
I may give it a miss then, I was thinking it would look pretty cool. To be honest I do have better thing to put my money on, like buying all my new panels.

the insurance thing is that your engine will be running without you in it.
no point fitting one otherwise.

Have a read

There's also info on insurance on one of those as the comment about not getting insurance is poop. If that was true they wouldn't insure cars with the new Cliffords (for example) with built-in turbo timers here:
