i've got a gearbox i believe is from a RS1600i so it should have a lower 5th gear, can someone tell me where the ID numbers are and what they should be??

There's a small metal flag on the gearbox. In most cases it's missing nowadays.

RSi had three or four different ratios for 5th gear, most came with shorter 5th than XR3.

RSi gearboxes are the only ones with CPS hole on the bottom of it...

Later CVHs had it bolted into the bottom end and markings on the back side of the flyheel, RS1600i was the first CVH with distributorless ignition, the CPS was bolted onto the lower side of the gearbox, the CPS used the starter teeth on the flywheel...
