I need to get a new gearbox for my Mondeo Zetec S-TDCI but don't know what/which is the right one to buy.

The code on mine says 3S7R7F096 B/A, but the one that i've been looking to buy is code 3S7F7002, will this fit the same or will i have problems?

Some people are telling me that there's no difference just Ford changed the codes, but others are telling me that they must match!!

Any help would be great, as i'm close to loosing my mind....

I have exactly the same problem. Mine is a 6 speed 130 bhp mondeo estate tdci (05) and also needs a 3S7R 7f096 b/a but I only seem to be able to find 3s7f7002 boxes. Are they the same? I'd hate to get the wrong one. Pleeease help!

 

I spoke to the guy at Mondeospares and he said that both boxes are exactly the same, it's just that ford changed codes....

I will let you know how i get on with the box. Fingers crossed.....

 

Thanks for letting me know what he said. Once my car has gone through its MOT (this week, fingers crossed) I have got to get it sorted. It's just too embarassing struggling to get second gear and it is not getting any better. Are you fitting it yourself? Having to remove the subframe is putting me off so at the moment it's 50-50 if I do mine or get a local garage to do it. I had a look underneath today and it doesn't look too bad to get at but it's just too cold to be underneath the car on the driveway now. I just replaced a rear brakeline - of course it was the difficult one that zig-zags over the rear subframe and that wasn't fun at all in the snow. The car is at the garage being done now, so i'm hoping that i'll hear something later tonight. The gear box cost me Ł256 delivered and Ł150 for the garage to fit.... Fingers crossed.

 

That's a good deal. I haven't found anyone around here that will fit it for that.
I've crossed my fingers for you too. Assuming it works out good I think I'll get mine from the same place.

 

Once i hear off the garage i'll send you the details on where to get the box from. I got it off ebay, but i'll find out the name for you and the exact part number so you'll be sure that it's the right one.

From memory i'm sure it was Mondeospares, but i'll have to check to be 100%
