Default Inlet manifold/Throttle body on a 1.8

As title, iv changed the exhaust side and camshaft side. Just wondered if there were any good upgrades for the inlet manifold and also is it worth upgrading to a 65mm throttle body?

Im not that good with this side of thing so wud welcome all opinions/experiences?

Thanks

Matt

you can swap for st170 manifold, other than that nothing really - apart from Ford Racing manifold + TB, but that's way over 1000$

65mm TB is useful if you manage to find it for a bargain - if not, better port the stock one and spend the money on something better.

is the st170 inlet a straight fit? Any gains from doing it (BHP or accelerating etc)?

mite just get 65mm TB if can get one for cheap. Wot wud you say was a good price to pay?

inlet - not a straight swap, quite a lot of work to do actually, including a way to wire IMIC
TB - no idea, I found one used for 63$ on ebay.com together with a whole intake (bargain!) and I should have it next week

put it on today - Focus Central 65mm TB + ported intake manifold + AEM TB-MAF pipe = GREAT IMPROVEMENT

a mod definitely worth doing, especially if you already have better exhaust/intake... throttle response is amazing and the car accelerates much better at low rpms - I'll dyno it after I'll make some air intake in the upper grille..

yes, stock manifold, only ported to match 65mm TB (stock is about 59mm)
by AEM TB-MAF pipe I meant the pipe going from TB to the MAF sensor - this blue something with the AEM sticker (only an American could put the sticker wrong way )

i get you know i can view the pictures. Looks very nice!!

Yea i will be having the ported inlet as well. Do you think the AEM pipe makes any difference? Also where is ur cold air feed going to as it always seemed quite tight down the side yours has gone.

no idea how the part is called, but it goes simply straight down - I drilled a hole in the body to fit it - nothing major there to hurt... but I'll work on the intake in the upper grille now - much more reliable for a daily driver
