Default Info Needed Focus 1.4 engine into Puma

HI Guys,
I am after some info on compatability of engines. I have a 98 puma 1.4 engine code FHD with a totalled lump. I have brought an engine from the same year fiesta but now i am looking at it I have noticed that the injectors arent the same, The engine code is FXDA which seems to be only fitted in the focus. and the focus being 75 ps against the 90 ps of the puma/fiesta. It may well be that the fiesta engine had been replace with a focus one at some point. The queries are will the FXDA engine run fine in the puma or will it have management issues with the different injectors or are the slim green injector an equivilent to the fat brown ones in the puma. I really dont want to go through the hassle of fitting the engine onlty to find it runs like a bg of shite that wont pass emissions test.
Many thanks in advance

Come on Techy Guys someone must have done this. Another thing I have noticed is there is a sensor between No2 and No3 spark plugs on thefocus engine but it was not connected as there is no provision on the fiesta loom. I dont know what difference this would make ?. I did not hear this engine run so have no idea how well it ran on fiesta management.I really done want to fit it to find it runs shite.!!

Hi,

Used to own a Puma myself.

I think the 1.6 Zetec SE from the Focus also appeared in the Puma, when the 1.4 Puma was stopped.

so you could drop a 1.6 unit in the Puma with little effort.

read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Zetec_engine
sorry if this isn't much help!

Car killer - the 1.4 Zetec SE appears in the MK1 focus 1.4CL I think!

Hi, according to Haynes 3397 (nearest for Puma) the 1.4 Fiesta lump should be marked FHA or FHE, so maybe a change has occured. Got a 1.7 myself so can't really help more, sorry.

Correct and also the LX, I don't see why not really as there all the same engine bar capacity, I.E mounts etc are the same so far as I know. You need the correct ECU, loom etc though.
