Default What a touch! Scrap metal prices.

Mums having a new kitchen fitted and I noticed the old boiler was in the skip. I told her it was worth a few quid so take it down the scrappy and she told me to take it if I wanted and I could have the money. Took it down expecting £40. 62kg of copper. £160 thank you very much. Offered my mum half and she told me to keep it. Having some good luck last couple of weeks. Might do the Euro millions.

Fuck me, what a return!

I bet there will be a massive surge in boiler burglaries this weekend, once I've found my toolbox.

I know. It's the standard boiler, 13 year old from a Westbury house. I saw it was copper so said it would be worth something just didn't realise that much. I also took 40kg of steel from the work shop and got £5 lol

copper boiler ? or do you mean hot water cylinder ? as these are copper but they dont come in at 62kg (big ones are worth about £40 scrap at the moment) as for a normal boiler in scrap valvue you might get about £2 to £5 for it if it cast like most old boilers, so what did you have ? or did you have loads of copper pipe as well

ive got loads of copper piping, a copper water tank (heavy bastard!) and a copper water heater from behind a fireplace which is fairly heavy too! must be a fair bit there, better weigh it all in and clear me garage!

do i have to strip the foam stuff off the water tank? or do i just take it in?
