i knocked on a door of a white 1.6 205 gti yesterday and it had full leather clean interior all standard ..eibach springs full exhaust system on a g reg 103.000 miles and the feller said he wants it gone and has been there for 4 years all it needs is a battery he said and could have it for £200.got to be worth it surely no rust visable either

Do it, i know of a 1.9 that had been sat under a tree for years, looked a propper shitter and it still went for a grand, they are still worth alot more than £200 even the 1.6's

 

How much of the underneath could you see? I'd say have it, be rude not to at £200, even if its rotten underneath the leather, springs and exhuast must be worth that and more sold on

 

buy it; put a gti-6 engine in it = flying machine

 

im goin down there sat its 1 road away and today me and a pal knocked for this awful green colour r5 turbo that we seen there since young ...got a moody bonnet and wheels but clean ..the feller said he will get his bro to ring me tonight as he wants it of his drive now and his bro hasnt been to see it for years ...its got what looks like s2 recaros in it and boost controller on the dash discs all round not sure if they come like that .im just gonna keep knocking for cars now its the way forward

depends on if you do it yourself or not - i just so happen to know of a 306 gti-6 for sale which would be ideal (cheap too)

 

i bought a complete gti 6 engine box loom ecu the lot for 400 quid with a months warrenty

 

Its alot of work, bulk head need cutting about etc and the box is very big to fit in, alot of people run the 1.6 box still

a gti6 will fit in a 205 with minimal hassle

new engine mount, 7mm ext of bottome fork, and it fits in,

cut 205 exh to fit

tilt brake servo a little

i make the engine looms plug and play

just fit the 1.9 rear, job done

1.6 has a shorter ratio box, i use one on 205,

gti6 brakes are a good upgrade, but as you have a 1.6 they wont fit, so you either need the 306 gti6 hubs or a set from a 1.9 gti

if you do this you will also need 1.9 drive shafts

what reg and colour is it? with full leather, if its G/H reg and miami blue/sorrento green, its a limited edition one. Fairly rare now.

I bought a miami blue j plate for £50 a few years back, wasn't in bad nick either!

 

after i bought my 205, i found out that it too had been sat under a tree in someone Welsh blokes front garden for nearly 2 years

still a very clean example though, as they dont generally get rust trouble, being galvanized shells (obviuosly still will rust though lol)

get it bought and get an MOT on it mate. it'll cost a few quid to get it up to track abuse though (i expect the suspension will be in need of an overhaul!)

i got 1 for free once garage shut down and i took it as my missus had a 1.1 205 nowt fit withotu hassle but all i found when stripping it was the bumper mounts were rusty
madness

ebay had the lot, i know of a quadlamped 1.9 sat up for atleast 5 years, may knock it up but ive got a list of to buys atm, 1 escort bonus, a gtv to break and a frst to break then a tennis cabrio too manys cars not enough space
