Yep im really bored and im going to go ahead with it. I have been thinking about it for some time and i have decided im going to mount a Shaker Hood scoop on the top of my carb. I will provide much better performance and looks than my current stock filter does.

For example here is my stock filter... the silver thing... looks bad.



and i really think the bonnet will benefit from it a lot. It will look really good.



Now im only planning to use a small scoop, because i have got a small engine (1.3) and a small carb with that. So i just want a bit more cold air in there, make it a bit faster.

it should cost me around £40 to fabricate the while thing myself. the most expensive thing will be the air filter. But i think it should all come out okay.

cant afford a new engine or new insurance anyway. Got mine for 760quid this year. 2 weeks before the insureance went up. My other half got her toyota yarris (1ltr) insured 3 weeks after for 1.3k and shes female so its supposed to be cheaper (both 3rd party fire and theft)

What else could a do to make the engine a bit quicker / look cooler? ive tidyied up the pipes, they all have Red sleeving on and all the cables have black sleeving on and its all clean in the bay.

dunno what else to do. thaught this would look quite cool... and i was thinking about putting 1.3L on the side of the scoop :P win
