As of 1 January some Customs rates have changed, the details are on the site but well hidden, but if going on the hmrc.gov.uk/customs site put Public Notice 143 into the search box for details, but basically amounts have changed.
Two parts from the US(one package), that cost me £18.85 delivered, has attracted the normal VAT amount, but also the Post Office charge £8, just to collect the money for customs, only ever ordered one at a time, so as it was under £18 did not attract any customs charges, and of course no £8 post office charge, so a £18.85 bill is now + £11.28, not in itself earth shattering, but proprortionately expensive for the value due to post office costs.
Just hope I remember to order one at a time, or get sent seperately next time!!
