hi there chaps im new on this site and was wondering if anyone could give some advice im looking to fit an rst engine (mfi) in my orion its an auto model so apart from the obviuos like pedal box etc is there any hidden buggers i should know about any advice would be great

if your converting to manual, you would be as well buying a rotten rs turbo so you can take over all little bits and pieces as well as loom, fuel tank driveshafts etc

 

I have done this conversion, you will need to cut and re-shape the floor for the gear linkage to fit, and weld a hole up or rubber bung where cable came through the floor, you will probably change the whole loom, i never cos i went EFI so i had to by pass the inhibitor switch otherwise car thinks it's in park and wont start.

Why not mate the rst engine up to the auto box? Would be different!

lol yeah dont think it would last long poxy thing barely goes into gear as it is
