My hard drive died last week & i lost everything as it wernt backed up, got most of my music & pictures etc on my i-phone & wondered if i could sync it back to my i-tunes libery?

You probably don't need to download anything, on the i-pod you can just plug the i-pod into the USB port, then find the i-pod on the My Computer, double click to open it up. Then right click, properties and unhide files, this will show you all of your music on your i-pod, then just click and drop the songs you want.
Might work for the i-phone too, good luck!
