AFR readings

Come on then lads wot readings do you lot think a stack AFR gauge should be showing
1. tick over ..............cold..?
2. tick over ..............hot...?
3. driving 3,000rpm............?
4. no boost......................?

I can tsay exactly what AFR's you will see, but on cold start it will be quite rich, but depends on map tbh,
warm tick over should be around lambda 1 or 14.5 AFR
driving at 3000 rpm, i assume you mean part throttle cruising on a motor way etc, then i would expect around 14.5
no boost? i assume you are referring to wide open throttle acceleration before the tubo boost threshold, this again should be around 14 AFR maybe a little richer, but as boost builds it should get richer in line with boost increase, down to as low as 11:1AFR but around 12.5 - 11 AFR i would expect to see on boost,
all mapping dependant really but hope this is enough of a guide for you.

Thanks for that we are not fare out with wot you are saying with the way the car is set up now . but to start with it was way out . we got the car started and got it warm and we had 11/11.2 on tick over so we set the ECU up to 14 and wot a different car to drive

Your car would have left me with sane afr readings so if they have changed then so has something else!

As you say mart it would of been right when you put the chip and injectors ansd put the sniffer up the pipe . but over xmass we put a swedish plenum on it and it had a very bad back fire when on boost . so we put REX,s AFR up the pipe and re set it up but to be onist its been running like a pig and when its cold it back fires and so i new it was all over the shop .
