Hey Guys:

Been down the my local ford dealer today, after been told my RS was delayed by two months, i had the reason FORD cant paint smarties which is bollox!!! i now have the offical e-mail from ford saying that the production on white RS's has currently being put on hold!!! not sure why!! some say they are changing the colour white but it's not offical!! however ford are saying that if customers cant wait for the WHITE then they will do a free upgrade to the blue....and if you have ordered green you can have blue and they will give you the diffrence back!!! hope that helps anyone whos got a white one on order!!!!

 

bloody hell eh. I do think they look nice in white though.

 

a guy i know got a white one and sold it within 2 weeks.. the build quality was shite and you could see the doors moving around in the aperture as you drove it. he went back to the dealer and was told "they all do that".! paint finish was crap as well..

 

I thought exactly the same when i see a white one in local ford garage the paintwork has a flat type finish in places all over, then i see a man at local show and he said his had the same as it was booked into ford to get redone!


until this post come i just thought the 2 were a 1 off mistake.
but looks bit more serious now

 

A chap I know bought a brand new Green one, noticed the tailgate is a completely different green and the passenger door doesnt line up properly!!!! Currently fighting Ford to get them to amend it.

 

SOunds like shocking build quality. Typical Ford really. Half hearted attempt to produce a performance car with no real interest in doing so.

 

my mk1 FRS had a shit paint job was really orange peeley!!! i thought the car had been re-sprayed but after talking to a few lads they tell me thats normal for ford and to be honest i bought the mrs a new Ka in sept and thats the same!!! not a fan at all of the paint jobs!!! just cant resist the RS badge thou!!!

 

If the paintwork was flat then it was probably flat and polished very poorly to get it out the door. If they have stopped production of white then theres obviously a problem with the paint itself which hasnt been able to be sorted intime before production!!

 

Agree with Toe Knee, chances are the problem is with the current batch of paint they are using.

Fords always have a shit finish so thats nothing out of the ordinary.

The cars i've seen haven't generally been that bad. Chances are, the out of colour panels and poor fit will have been damaged in transit and repaired. The only option then is as said above, argue it with Ford and hope they agree to put it right.

 

Strange that you can get it in blue if you dont want to wait for the white or aint they supposed to stop with the blue?

 

Mate has a white one and it doesnt look that bad? Think its definately the best colour to have, all RS's look best in white FACT!

 

sure it's not a case they've made a shit load of them in blue and can't shift them thus giving everyone a "free upgrade" to blue?!

 

Stick with White mate. The only other colour they could do it in that would make me change my mind would be Black

 

white is a sexy colour for sporty cars, as long as its kept clean!
