Default do you think im making a mistake

right at the minuite on my car its lowered 40mm at the back and 35mm at the front on full koni adjustables

at the minuite ive got a set of 7.5x17" tsw evo-r alloys fitted but upon inspection at the body shop asfter replacing the 2 rear tyres they are ripping the rear arches to bits and also damaging the side walls on the tyres too.

this is how it looks at the min

now ive been offered a straight swap for a very clean graphite grey set of 16" mondeo zetec alloys like the escos 1s with 195/45/16 tyres fitted all good tyres too

my question is should i swap after ive just bought a brand new set of centre plates had all my wheels re-furbed bought toyo t1-s tyres for the front which have done 0 miles and bought falkens for the rear which also have done 0 miles bought a brand new set of black centre nuts and also a blue set new pind for the centres and the inner tsw caps plus had the ford motorsport logos added to esch wheel. im not overly fussed on the cost of mine tbh just dont know if the other wheels will look as good as mine or not also how much are 195/45/16" tyres to buy too

cheers for any help

Yeah man, keep those minter wheels, they really make the look of your car.

Get the arches trimmed or rolled to ensure clearance and you're good to go.

The sig pic has been modded slightly

This is how it sat with 25mm lowered springs

This was it full of camping gear, it only rubbed on big dips on the road.

Trim the arches job done ,mine does not rub at all, looking at your pic would say the rear needs to come up a bit anyway

The rear spring dont fit onto the shock so you can use and make of spring and i would say keep your wheels mate as they look the nuts

keep the wheels for sure! As twins says, get it sitting level too, does it not handle odd with the back lower than the front? Thats why FWD cars seem to sit higher at the back, to aid the handling isn't it?

Could you not just get a set of 4 springs and fit the lot? Might cost you Ł30 or so more but at least you will have a new matching set!

Do you know the rubbers on top of the rear springs? If you find an extra pair, you can fit those to the bottom as well to bring the car level. This is how mine has been now for a few years.

mine handles a lot better with the back higher than it ever did with it lower, with fwd you want the back end high and quite soft this keeps the back end loose and it follows the front better, also very good for lift off oversteer. having it higher also aids traction to the front for launches

Id say keep your wheels mate and get a set of 25mm springs for the rear they are so easy to change at the back too it will take you at the most half hour to change them
