Default Will i need to rebuild my engine?

Hi all I have had my engine sitting now for a couple of years after i totally lost interest with my rs turbo but am now slowly getting round to try and get it back on the road. The only thing that is bugging me is that i don't want to get the bodywork done if i have to rebuild my engine again.

I rebuild it just before i took it off the road and had only just ran it all in and then never did anything apart from sell a few bits that i didn't want anymore.

Can anyone tell me if it will be ok to use again or should i renew any bits?

Any help would be greatfull thanks

You will be fine mate, engine wear generally only happens when the engine is running lol

Change the oil, take the plugs out and turn the engine over until you have oil pressure, give the engine a general inspection, has the car been outside?

May be worth draining the fuel tank as well...... and before you turn the engine over (without the plugs) put a few drops of oil down each bore, auto trans fluid is pretty good for this also.

If the car has a K&N fitted have a good check over the metering unit (with filter off) for water or corrosion..... The bonnet vent is conveniently placed over the mfi unit
