Have just bought another series 2 with only 3 bits of welding but one bit next to drivers seat which unfortunatly has meant its got no chassis number there as it should how and where do i go to get one stamped in???? everything matches up slam panel chassis number and logbook and its been hpi'd and all come back ok, any help would be appreciated, and will put pics up soon.

 

its illegal to stamp chassis numbers into cars, thats why reshells have no numbers..i would be a bit concerned if the car hasnt had any welding except for the chassis number!!!

 

Its had 3 bits m8 and we all know what they are like where the seats bolt to the floor have had them go there before, so under no circumstances can i have one stamped in the floor even though everything else adds up hpi, slam panel chassis number, and logbook???

 

mines gone around there, luckily I can salvage the old number and surrounding inch or so, gonna weld that part into the new piece of floor pan, then just need to weld a small hole in passenger area where some tool has clearly jacked it up in wrong place and bent the floor causing it to rust through. Gonna take plenty of pics all way through as to try maintain its genuine.

 

Have decided against it and going to get my deposit back.

ha ha just spoke to the bloke who i am buying it off and he has found the chassis number next to the seat under about 6 coats of paint so all is good!!!! lol picking it up tuesday and cant wait

As got to sort tax and insurance out tomorrow m8 as my stupid insurance company was closed today and it ran out of tax at the beginning of 2008 lol been stored for the last couple of years.
