Nice looking car mate, they are great motors.

Wouldn't say the engine is anly less reliable than a 300bhp Cos lump. Maintenance is the key and looking out for the warning signs. Had mine for 2 years and it's been spot-on **touches wood**

We just rebuilt my mates engine with JE Pistons, V9 Crank, Eagles Rods, ACLs ect and it only stands us £1600.

Must be a quick car at 1.5bar, my one is running standard boost but everyone who has worked on it say it doesn't feel standard.

And yes, it's Sonic / WR Blue (74f I think it is.) Here's mine for comparion:

I wasn't up until recently. Starting to think about a newer one again for some reason. Need to get the box sorted first though, it's getting rebuilt mid-Feb and a UK 5th fitted to make it more user-friendly for the long journeys.

I'll wait and see how I get on with it after the box is done.

personally I prefer the short 5th, seems to be alot easier to keep on song...saying that if I did lots of motorway miles I am sure i'd think differently lol.

Reason I went for the ra v5 over the type r is the helical front diff and the fact I need the 4dr's for the kids. Think its lighter then the type r aswell but don' hold me to that.

I've read a P1 is a de-spec'd v5 type r, no dccd and other toys also longer 5th then jap versions...again not sure how true alot of that is just read it on ra.co.uk.
