also what engine is it on as cvh will require you to have box re-welded to take front starter as rear starter won't go on cvh, then custom clutch/flywheel, custom shafts and repositioning of servo

Properly rebuilt BC box should be quite up to the task at hand.

it'll fit straight on the zetec engine as thats what the st170 is you'll just need custom mounts and shafts to make it fit in mk3 fiesta

For the st box to fit a zetec AFAIK for it to bolt up properly
is just use an st170 sump because it bolts into the sump itself too
just use a 2.0 zetec flywheel and focus rs clutch. Also somewhere
for the gear selector cables to run. + hydraulic clutch conversion.

If you have 200hp then stick with a stage 2 Berni box from CTS.

st170 is the most expensive way to go sue to the clutch and fly wheel (ask luca) focus rs box is the best as it has the atb as standard, standard rs box-cts stage1-stage2-stage2+ = pretty much the same. Could last forever, could last 5 mins
I hjave a stage 2 going on my zvh, but from speaking to a number of people, there is no difference what so ever in reliability on the rs boxes

Crazy cage knows a thing or 2 about these conversions, Luca also, both top people with a lot of USEFUL knowledge

You can fit an uprated clutch to the ST170 flywheel (not expensive)

There also is a cheaper option uprated clutch and flywheel package now available.

Simon.

Do the clutches have sprung friction plates to work with a 230mm alloy flywheel.i have the fidanza flywheel which is made to the same size as the standard duel mass flywheel and need a cluth kit to suit.

Not to sure what to do to be honest. Weather to go mtx or 6speed or get my cts 2+ rebuilt properly as last time it went was just thrown back together with 2nd hand parts.

Jaiscossie,

got your pm, unfortunatly i am not selling, i am going to keep it and kill it, the lsd will be for sale once the box poo's itself. I will keep everyone posted on how long it lasts once my car has been finished and mapped. I would recomend the MTX conversion any day, even over the 6 speed as the standard ratios on them are very close, I think there is about 10mph difference between 3rd and 4th but I may be mistaken. Luca and SAS run these boxes and im pretty sure they have never had any problems with it.

I shall be going Focus RS once my cts has given up.

Cheers

Raj
