my 1.4 has died and am wondering what parts if any i would need to put the 1.6 engine in instead of the 1.4 please help me

there would be no point really in changing 1.4 to a 1.6 might aswell save some money and buy a 2 liter zetec

 

why no point? 1.4 to 1.6 is a plug&play engine swap plus maybe an ECU, going for 2.0 is a serious work...

 

im just after a cheap swap over there are more 1.6 engines available locally to me than there are 1.4 engines and dont really want hassle of swapping to a 2.0

 

tuning wise 2 liter all day long sorry

 

not after mad power though want to get an rs next year or year after so its just my run around for now

1.4 and 1.6 are both Zetec-SE, both have the exhaust manifold at the back (between engine and bulkhead so to say). I'm quite sure the swap would be pretty much straightforward. As said, the ECU and parts of the exhaust system would be needed aswell.

The 1.8 and 2.0L Zetecs are a totally different type...

i wouldnt mind putting a 1.6 in the wifes mk 5 fiesta. Cause the 1.25 engine is similar to the 1.6.

 

What would i need for the 1.8 or 2.0 conversion on the focus can get my hands on either so what other parts would i need to do the conversion ? Please boys and girls im gettin desperate now !
