its more like the nouveau red than magenta

Not exactly a minter. Look at the panel gaps of the boot lid, the trim line under the headlights is not painted, signs of respray on the front left inner wheel arch etc etc..

The colour looks a bit like that tango metallic on modern Fords (Mk2 Focus, etc)

 

looks like it has had more hits then take that and it is not magenta

 

there are 2 different shades of magenta colour

the normal turdy brown colour , and ive seen a few a colour that is halfway between magenta and novuea red ,and have been original not re-painted (inc fords orange peel finish)
also know someone who owns this colour too and thats a magenta (early2wd), but looks like a novuea 4by4 colour
(noveua is a late 4by4 colour)

i beleive thats known as pepper red ..... and for the record there are 2 shades of that also ????

had a mk5 xr3i convert in that colour

 

but he said its magenter not magenta ,magenter is a colour that sheds are painted in not cars lol
