i've got this for my 2.0 pinto but i cant figure out what the manifold or carb for that matter is off in the first place

whyone any ideas?

 

not sure on manifold could be a crossflow item but the carb looks like its off a 3.0 essex engine like you get in the capris and early granadas

Yep looks like 38 DGAS from the 3.0 Essex, a common upgrade for the 2.0 pinto in Capris etc.

 

shite, i thought it was a pinto manifold but i've just looked at some crossflow ones and it's one of them

i'm going to have to adap mine or find another now

As said it's a 38DGAS, as found in amongst others 3L capri, but have a look around the base of the carb to be sure, as it looks very like a 40DFI, which was the performance carb for the 3L, anbd very rare now.
