Questions about ecus...
Hi, I bought some months ago on ebay a chipped ecu (S2 late Blue Red Black V86AB 12A297 CA). It's chipped with Superchip and I haven't fitted
it until last christmas holidays. After fit this ecu the boost doesn't work correctly, the gauge doesn't misure more than 0.2 bar when 0.5 is
the standard value. I refitted my unchipped ecu (hearts&diamonds spec90) and the car runs fine again. So this chipped ecu fails. These are my questions..
1) Any of you has ever have this problem? Can be the fail produced by another critical component apart from Motorola micro?
2) I'd like to try to change Superchip micro from this ecu (blue Red Black) to another std ecu. Can I do it? I've seen that there are some
differences in the layout of pre spec 90 and spec90 ecus, and I'm wondering if I can use this chip in any S2 ecu.
Thanks and sorry if I can't explain my questions well, my vocabulary is too limited...
Happy New Year!!

I'm sorry but I cannot see how the ECU can prevent the turbo from making the base pressure of the actuator. OK, I suppose if its doing something crazy with the timing, but I still can't imagine it.
Have you checked the timing with a strobe upon fitting each ECU?

Yes it can........ Amal valve Christian
If the ECU is reading high ACT's or knock it will pull the timing back and close the Amal valve this would cause the boost problem he is experiencing.
Sounds like a duff ECU to me.

Now at least, I'd like to know if the chip runs well in another ecu..
Which is the boost limit in heart&diamonds ecus (spec90)??
Thanks for your answers

It just means if there is a problem then the ECU cant do anything about it, but loads of people run without them.
Your problem is the ECU, if you remove the Amal valve your just masking the problem and your timing could still be retarded by the ECU which is bad.

Is possible that this chipped ecu required to run only without amal valve?
Bye.
